Is Mythic Ready to Unleash the Orc Choppa?

It seems so! ;)
I think every WAR blogger was a bit jealous when Keen received a mystery package from Mythic Entertainment last weekend hinting at an upcoming announcement about the Dwarf Slayer. Well, if I was green before, I think I might have turned a shade greener today after receiving my own little envelope courtesy of the folks from Fairfax, VA.
Like a ravenous goblin in an orphanage, I was twitching with excitement as I ripped open the seal. This is what I found inside:

If you gathered the top 10 most memorable action movie quotes from the '80s and '90s, I think you'd find that the guv'nuh, Arnold Schwarzenegger, delivered at least half of them. Being a child of the 80s myself, I quickly replayed many of those quotes in my head. "I'll be back." Terminator. "It's not a too-mah!" Kindergarten Cop. "If it bleeds, we can kill it." Predator... Oooh, getting warmer.
At 1:16:06 of Predator you will find perhaps the most valuable contribution Arnie's illustrious career to the motion picture industry (career... hmm, interesting choice of words):
"Get to da choppa!" To add a little context, the full quote is "Ruuuuuun! Goooooo! Get to da choppa!" preceded by some kickass machine gun fire and followed by a thrilling escape attempt.
So, either Mythic is playing the cruelest joke of 2009 on us or we're in for some big news about the Slayer and Choppa careers on January 29, 2009! I somehow doubt they are messing with us here.
PS. The sender signature contains the capital letters J and D. Thanks Josh and everyone else at Mythic! :)

we shall see
Excellent!
Rather than waste money on these silly packages and using blog sites to build hype for content that should have been included from the get-go, I'd rather see Mythic dedicate resources to fixes the numerous issues with the game.
Being right is good, not as good as getting personal attention gift-packages from game developers, but good none-the-less.
God Bless the Governator.
You can't please everyone, so I'm not surprised there are some grumpy gusses chastising Mythic for trying to have a little fun, while helping support the WAR community but I think most of us think this is a good thing.
There are plenty of other things that still need fixing in WAR but I don't expect the Combat and Careers team to be working overtime on tasks that aren't their responsibility. The two new MDPS careers were promises that were made ages ago and I'm happy that we'll hear about how they plan to deliver them in a week.

On the nose! You can't just 'dedicate resources to fixes[sic] the numerous issues with the game' willy nilly. I'm sure there is already a team on that and are working diligently. The dev team isn't a general pool of like talent that you can dole out to problems as necessary which is a misconception many people have with the development process.
However, being called a grumpy gus, I feel that denigrates my position. If you look at the MMO field right, and objectively see not only what Mythich has delivered us as well as how they handle things, I think you would realize just how poorly we gamers are being serviced by the company.
I've been playing online games since 1996 and have tried many MMOs. The way I see it (and you may see it differently), Mythic has responded quicker and better to game-related issues than any other studio with Warhammer Online. They aren't perfect and the game might not be completely fixed yet, however, they're doing a very good job at responding to the issues.
One could argue that there shouldn't have been as many issues in the first place, however, I can't name a better MMO developer when it comes down to reacting right now. If you've been here since the beginning, can you honestly say the game hasn't had a ton of major improvements in four short months?
We still have a ways to go, but my confidence is renewed that we'll get there sooner rather than later.
@Delmania
i agree with you that fixing problems should be mythic priority
BUT
i think they should concentrate on making sure they do things right rather than do them fast.
the big 'issue' atm i think is performance (feel free to correct me if im wrong on this) and i assume its alot more complicated to fix the game engine than it is to balance a new career.
with something as fundamental as a game engine which affects every single aspect of the game the consequences if they rushed out a solution could be catastrophic.
even a company as big a blizzard can mess up, just look at patch 3.08
clearly the same team that does marketing does bug fixing. also, apparently a DVD copy of predator must cost a few thousand dollars or something if it's diverting resources away from other projects.
I do not agree with you.
If you switched in your argument the names of Mythic with BLIZZARD THEN I would agree. Mythic is a great company, not perfect by any means, but the only thing I can think of when i read
"...If you look at the MMO field right, and objectively see not only what Mythich has delivered us as well as how they handle things, I think you would realize just how poorly we gamers are being serviced by the company.
